Sad news

My family was all a twitter on the the account of a new baby arriving.. the only problem?  My sister who lives at home with my step mom was having said baby, it was a unplanned pregnancy, the boyfriend is an ass, and she never told my step mom. My sister told all of us girls, that she was pregnant, and when her boyfriend  refused to go to the first ultra sound I stepped in and offered to attend every appointment  and class, and agreed to be her birthing partner. At this point I really feel that she was going to tell her mom but it was an extremely  sad day as we found out she will not be having this baby.  What do you say to someone who just lost their future.. I'm sorry, I love you, at least you won't have to tell Mom. I  was stunned and not sure what to say. She was understandably  upset but she didn't cry or shout or do anything except carry on her partying ways. I still feel so badly for her. She is in pain and nothing can ease that kind of upset. I am at a loss of what to do for her but help her grieve and start a new. I am torn up as well and feel an overwhelming  depression  setting in.

Marriage, Honeymoon, and what happens after.

The Wedding was amazing! Hectic but amazing. I was ready when we left to go on our honeymoon. I will include a slide show or something so you can all see. For our honeymoon we went to Ireland, London, and New York. It was an amazing trip and a world wind. I was also very ready to come home when we were on our way back. I missed my kitties. I can't believe that I'm married now. To be honest  though, it really isn't all that everyone cracks it up to be. I mean we still live in the same house, we still sleep in the same bed, we do everything that we did when we were not married but now he can't get away without substantial paperwork.  There are perks we now share health insurance, we are signed on the same accounts, and my husband now gets a discount card for the place I work. Other than that I still haven't changed my name which is proving to be difficult. Some places care others don't but now that I have my certified copies I am working on trying to get it changed. Other than that we are trying to get into better shape, which means trying to eat healthier. If you want to find out more click on Shaping Up Our Lifestyle. Oh and in August we are going to Orlando and to Disney World for my birthday. I'm excited but there is so much to plan between now and then. More to come in the year ahead. I'll be sharing some about Shaping up as well as whats happening in daily life.

I am anxious to be married and wisked away on our honeymoon.  But I keep having wierd dreams about missing the ceremony and reception and everyone waiting for me.. then my dress isnt the right color or the flowers are all wrong... its stressful.  Oh and the girl that was going to do my cake backed out on me.

On a good note though today im going to call aaa and see what they recomend money wise. As well it looks like we have a cake decorator again. So I have to call her too. Anyway we are getting there and tomorrow im hoping to get the laundry done, our lease signed, and most of the deep cleaning done at our house.

Honeymoon is 50% Go!

So I have been working diligently on our honeymoon everything from where we are going to where we will be staying. Of course you cant go on vacation with no place to sleep. So Ireland is completely done. All the places we want to see for sure are planned in and points on our map any extras are impromptu adventures.  Which is ok cause you can't plan EVERYTHING. As much as you may try there is always something that won't happen the way you planned it to. So Ireland is done to my satisfaction but London and part of New York are still left we do though have places to sleep so one thing done and just over two months left.

I have also been trying to wrap my head around how we are going to get and or use money while we are out of the country.  I talked to the several banks who have just instructed me to just use an atm to pull money out and use it as we go cause travelers checks are going the way of the dinosaurs.  But fees do apply. I don't want to carry all our money onto a plane because I don't trust people I just don't know what to do. Any advice?

Enjoying the start of Summer and some Updates.

So from way back in January.. wow. So it's June six months later.. Sad that I have been unable to keep up with this but today starts anew. Today is my day off and I am sitting on our little porch enjoying the start to summer. We have been so busy the past few months with getting ready to get married and getting ready to leave to go on our honeymoon. The good news is we submitted our passports last month so any day now we should be getting them back. We are so excited to go but there is so much left to do. Today I realized that in 71 days we are getting hitched. Which lead me to make plans for getting our marriage license. I just have to get it three days before our wedding but not over 90 days. I'm excited tomorrow I am sending Save the Dates, and next week my invitations should be done so I will send those out the following week and hopefully have my RSVPs back by July 31st. SO MUCH TO DO IN SO LITTLE TIME.

Jeff and I are also experimenting with a new budgeting system. We are both really bad with our money so my hope is that this will give us BOTH the ability to do budgeting. In the past we have given up on budgeting because it was such a hassle and one or the other of us was the only one doing it, and that really wasn't fair. The hope is that this will be a better way of doing things.

Workouts are non-existent at this point in out lives even though we have a gym membership and do like going. We just never seem to have the time to go right now. Hopefully we can go more in the future but I think I might just start working out at home for the moment. I am thinking of keeping track on here and just making a different page for it so that I can keep up with posting as well as keeping up with other things. We will see how that goes. For now I and just happy to be here and excited to go away.

Food Saving for my Hubby.

So I bought a Food Saver so that I could make good meals for Jeff. He has been all over me about saving money and not letting food go to waste, but since I live at his mom's most of the time I figured I would do something about this and at the same time make fast meals that he can just reheat easily. So I made a lot of fajitas and food savered a bunch of them and froze them as well as some chicken noodle soup and beef stew. So we will see what he says about them. I am looking for recipes for things to food save and I will make an update about this post later

Hell and Back- a fight with David's Bridal

So after I picked up my dress, which I just took over to my sister's house, the Assistant Manager from David's Bridal called and told me that they put the wrong slip and Long bra in with my dress. She was very apologetic and assured me that they had already ordered the right ones and would call me when they got them. Well finally I got the call and was told I could come pick them up so I did so and took my sister who is also my maid of honor. So when I got there the girl at the front desk asked why I was there and I explained and she told me they didn't do exchanges, to which I said "For me you do." Which makes me feel very self important but she was kinda mean anyway. So she looked up my account and went and got the ones that were held for me. Then she wanted to know if I wanted to try them on, and I was kinda in a hurry and said no I would try them on at home. First she told me that if I didn't try on my stuff there they would not exchange them because they only allow one exchange. Then she wanted to know if I was going to need to see one of my bride's maid dresses before I bought them....

(Deep Breath) I have to explain that this is not the only problem I have had with this store. When I was buying my dress they wouldn't take the check Jeff had written me, no explanation, So I brought a different check one that was a starter check from another account, to which the same girl that was at the desk, Accused me of having/ using a fraudulent check. So when I did pay for my dress I did so on my debt card and asked if that was all of it, to which I was told yes.

So I asked for some clarification as to what she was talking about. And she told me that my bridesmaid dresses were not ordered yet.... Long silence and then I lost most of my resolve. I know my sister a little bit of my Bridezilla because she was telling me to take a deep breath and it was going to be ok. So she asked if I had a receipt and I wasn't sure but I went out and looked in my wallet and found one. I was not happy and so the girl called for a manager.

Lora the manager came and made an itemized receipt and my dresses were not there. So she looked up my account and if it couldn't get any worse they have discontinued my sister's dress in her size..So I told her to pull ALL the dresses that did come in my sister's size because I wanted to see EVERY SINGLE ONE. And that i guessed that since we were going to take ALL this time I would try on my stuff. And then I asked her about they're exchange policy. After a little negotiation she agreed that they would exchange them if I needed it before my wedding, because it was their fault that I had to exchange them the first time. So my sister tried on the dress that my little sister is wearing and it looked so much better on her than the other one did so we bought it instead.

All in all a very frustrating day at David's bridal. I still need my veil though so we will see what happens next time.

Christmas

Christmas is just around the corner and I can't wait. I love Yule time and I am showing Jeff more and more things that Pagans do for our holidays. I am hoping that my transfer will go through because my house really needs to be put in order so that I can put up an alter. I love that Jeff is so open to my beliefs. I helped Jeff's mom put up and decorate her tree. I really wanted to get a tree and everything for our apartment this year but it is looking more and more like that just is not going to happen. Jeff and I did how ever buy each other ornaments this year. I bought him a Bacon one and he got me two Doctor Who ones. So they are sitting on our mantel piece other than that you can't even tell that it's Christmas at our house but I am hoping to buy a tree and all the trimmings at a discounted price after this holiday for next year. I guess I will just put our presents under his mom's tree for Christmas this year. I am excited I have bought him some great Tee shirts so we will see how much he loves them. Till next week keep it cheerful. I think Next year I am going to do gift ideas on here for Christmas.

Never gonna Leave

Recently Jeff and I moved from Salem which was 13 miles from my job to Gresham which is 30+ miles from my job. And the whole reason that we moved was to be closer to his job cause it was costing us a small fortune for him to drive from Salem to Portland which was 47 miles one way. Plus since Jeff makes 80% of our house income it was just smarter, but our thinking was that it would be easier for me to transfer my job cause I am a cashier at a large chain store than for him since there is not a hospital in the area that he can transfer to. And so far we LOVE our apartment, community, and how much closer we are to everything including my parents but it has been 3 months of hassle to get my transfer. I like my current store and if it were closer I would not hesitate to stay but there is a 4-5 stores within 10 miles of our apartment. I just don't know what to do.. I have called and left messages for the other store's personnel person, as well as waited for several 1/2 hour increments to talk to her. I also have been hearing some of my co-workers stories about transferring and it doesn't seem this hard. So now I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Instead of driving all the way back and forth I have been occupying the small guest bedroom at Jeff's mom's house cause she lives 8 miles from my current store. But it is hard and awkward because I am so far away from Jeff and he basically lives in our apartment with our cats while I live with his mother. I love his mom but still it is hard to be here all the time and no with Jeff. Which in turn makes my life stressful and I feel like he is stressed too. So after months of calling and leaving messages, not having time to wait for the other Personnel person Monday I am going to call one last time then Wednesday I am going to take my book and go to the store and wait till she has time to see me. And if nothing comes of this and they don't have a position for me then I may scream. And I will definitely complain. I do know one thing this has made me, more than once, want to quit and start over again. Ridiculousness. This is a true FML moment if there ever was one

Picking up My Dress and other things

So Yesterday we had our Thanksgiving dinner, of which I am happy to say that I cooked 95% of it on my own. It was just Jeff, his mom and I but I think I did a pretty good job. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and the turkey was moist. I just don't think my mother and law judged the cooking time right cause the bottom didn't seem to be all the way done but the top was perfect. I think I might cook Thanksgiving every year. It was fun. The only thing missing was Jeff's sister who did not come because she is fighting with Jeff's mom about stupid stuff.

Today is going to be a great day. Mostly because Jeff and I get to spend another day off together, and because it is date night. Once in a while our days off are on the same days and we can go out and do stuff together. This week happens to be one of them. Which is why we had T-day early. So we started out I asked Jeff if he wanted to go see a movie cause we both want to see Thor: Dark World before it goes out of theaters. Of course he agreed and then asked if I wanted to try out this new grill place he saw on tv. Then we decided since we could watch the movie downtown, which is close to the grill we should also visit our favorite new & used book store. But I really need to go pick up my dress tomorrow as well so our schedule of events went from dinner and a movie to a whole day planned out trip. I am going to drop him off at the cigar lounge and go get my dress and take it to my sister's house cause Jeff is a snoop and I can't have my dress at our house. Then I am going to pick him up and we are going to drop off our car at the mall and ride the public transit around downtown. It is so much easier to use it than to drive everywhere and get lost and irritated. Then we will go to the bookstore, a comic bookstore, dinner, and then to the movie. We recently moved so we are trying to find a new comic book store.

Wedding dress choices.

Here are my decisions:

Choice One:

What I like about this one: This one is a fit and flare, it is semi simple but still has a little glitz. What attracted me to it was the flowy-ness it has.

What I DON"T like: I am getting married in a outdoor area and while the place I am having my ceremony isn't the problem it is any pictures that I take in the field setting. It is going to catch all manner of stuff. and the price. This one was almost twice as much as the next one.

Choice Two:

What I like: This is a ball gown with an empire style waist. This one definitely has glitz and is a little more slimming than the other. it would do well in the field and in the ceremony place. It is cheaper by half.

What I don't like: It is kinda heavy

What is good about both: They both have the corset type back.

Here are the dresses that Mel liked.

I thought the green one was the best but we are not going to have green it will be blue.

Update to Beat ALL Updates.

SO needless to say I have been gone for a while due to school, and work, and my computer having a massive fail. So since I have been away this will be THE UPDATE TO BEAT ALL UPDATES! Since we last spoke or rather since I last wrote to you I have moved twice, got a new job, bought a car, adopted two, and been proposed to once. Oh and my kitchen is trying to kill me. Plus recent stuff and trying to figure things out.So one thing at a time.

We moved to Salem Oregon so I could be closer to school, and then recently in September we moved to Gresham to be closer to where Jeff works. I didn't finish school and it is not completely off the table but I realized that as much as I loved going because it fed my mind it also came with a LOT of stress and it triggered my depression big time. It was way too expensive and I racted up a lot of debt do it. Now I know what you are saying I should go back and finish cause I am close but I am getting my Bacholor's Degree as a Bacholor's of Arts in English Liturature and I am minoring in writing. When I get out of college there will NOT be a job waiting for me, I will mostlikely NOT go into the feild I would like to. I would like to be a teacher but 1. You can not be a teacher with a bacholors degree in my feild unless you are getting your Masters in teaching, so that makes me a sub, and you can't be a full time sub so that puts me right back where I am now. SO that being said I have reconcidered my school career and when everything gets more normalized I will think about it again but for now No School. Since we have moved though I think my new kitchen is trying to kill me. I burned my finger REALLY bad and a week later I sliced my index finger open while sharpening a knife. I have been staying at Jeff's mom's house since then because it is WAY closer to my job until I get transfered.

I got a new Job. No more temping around, I got offered a part-time position at Wal*mart. It isn't ideal but as my momma would say 'A job is a job and you can't stick your nose up at it.' I have actually been working here for over a year, and recently got to enroll for my health care and what not. Since we moved though I need to be transfered to a closer store. So Monday I have to check in with personel about it.

We bought a car. We bought Jeff a Toyota Camry and it has been working out until recently when appearently the heat sensor went out on it. I donno what happened but his buddy has been working on it since neither one of us has time and personally I don't have the motivation or time to go about screwing around with it. SO thank you to Jeff's friend.

We adopted two cats. Well they were newborn kittens when we adopted them. And it was all Jeff's fault. They were super cute but I wasn't going to do it until Jeff one night was sitting on my sister's couch and he was holding the smallest littlest runt of the bunch and she curled up on him and went to sleep and he called her his Baby Vader. (cause we thought she was a boy) But we didn't want to get just her so we adopted another one from the same litter and he has had a lot of names, (since we though he was a girl at first) but we settled on Baby Vader and Solo. So Vay is the black and white, while LoLo is the white siamese looking one.

JEFF PROPOSED! on Febuary 27th, 2013. SO I knew it was going to happen because Jeff has no sense of anything, so I had found my ring and brought him to look at it, cause I am SUCH a romantic and he said it was perfect. So he bought it (when I wasn't around)on sale for a great price. What I wasn't expecting and he, and my sister teased me with how it was going to happen but it was great. It was so sweet he baked me a heart cake and decorated it (with his mom's and a friend's help) and then he put the ring ontop and as I was sitting in the other room he came in and turned my chair around and said I was the best thing that had ever happened to him and He loved me so much and couldn't think of his life without me in it, so would I marry him. and I said yes of course. We took a while and decided on a date but since we live in Oregon the weather is questionable at the best of times so summer was probably best but we wanted to get a really good deal on a honeymoon where ever we decided to go so that was in the fall. But my birthday is August 11, and uhis is Sept. 17th, and I didn't want it to over shadow our birthday's or any plans that we might make, or have, so that we decided on August 22nd, 2014. Afteur running this by his mom we found out it is his Grandfather's birthday but he has passed away, but she said it was perfect, and he would have agreed.

Dead computers

Sorry  I  have  missed some posting  days recently  mine and my husband's computers both died. They are not taking on charge so its time to start looking at and starting saving for new ones. Unfortunately  that mean sfor now I am stuck posting from my phone and tablet.  That being said... my family seems to be doing better with the loss of  our newest member.  It has been harder for some of us but my sister seems to be doing fine.

Around the Water Cooler.

Needless to say I have been neglecting you blog, and I am sorry but I have been working my butt off. I still love you though and thought I would do some posting this afternoon. I want to talk about several things but the one that is most on my mind at the moment is the Dad that used facebook to teach a lesson to his daughter. ( http://youtu.be/kl1ujzRidmU)  I know it's blowing up the internet at the moment and I am not helping but I was reading the comments and was astonished by the amount of people who were so.....negitve. Many of them were insinuating that he was a bad drunk, and that he wasn't setting a good example for this daughter, so on and so forth.

I say 'Way to go!" In today's world parents are very restricted in their ability to disapline/punish their children. This does kinda go back to things we have talked about in the past. I have to say that in a world of computers, Iphones, and several different types of technology it can be hard to monitor what your children say, who they talk to, and what goes on in the wild blue yonder of the interwebs. I don't think that this was an overreaction because this girl had already gotten in trouble for something similar.

Breastfeeding- Back in the spotlight.

While I was waiting for the computer tonight to write my blog for Wednesday my little sister Candi called for us to hear this story on Yahoo about breastfeeding and wanting it to be on Sesame Street as a healthy, natural way for babies to be fed. (http://shine.yahoo.com/parenting/sesame-street-teach-kids-breastfeeding-185000424.html) While most of the article was about thoughts and opinions on the subject my other sister Melissa requested that this be the spotlight of my Wednesday Blog. So this one is for you Mel.

Let me take you back to yester-year when I was a child. This issue had just really hit it's hay-day. I was probably in my early years 7-10 and I remember my parents and my friend's parents talking about it. People were out raged by such a menial thing that it was banned almost everywhere and seen as gross or disgusting. I think this is really interesting since in today's society it is ok to see women with pasties on their breasts. Somehow though we seem to think that mothers need to whisked away in a room secluded from everyone else. Breasts are FOR this purpose, "for babies not men" as Mel was saying. I don't think that putting a negitive conotation on this is good. I think that women should be free to breastfeed in public places but I also believe there is a way of doing it that does make it easier for others to handle.

Why is Getting High Cheaper than Going to the Movies?

Recently I have noticed that getting high is so much cheaper than going to the movies. For $20 you can buy a dub and get 4-5 people high but to take that many people to the movies you pay almost if not more than $100.
 $8.00 for 4 tickets= $32.00
$6.00 for 2 combo popcorn and sodas=$12.00
TOTAL= $44.00
This is not including the gas to get there and back and any extras.

Getting high is also cheaper than bowling. The only thing that I can think of that would be cheaper is if you rented movies and then they couldn't be  new releases.

It is no wonder that kids these days smoke pot till their brains' rot it's the cheapest form of entertainment.

Christmas is Right Around the Corner and I Have a Date!

So let me start off this blog by apologizing I have been uber busy working lately, and not posting. Who knew that temping could be so busy?! So I apologize and I will start posting regularly again. So the schedule will not change Wednesdays will still be the day.

Update Time!: I have been working like crazy lately and all graveyard. I think it's starting to drive some people a little mad. Mostly because I have no idea what day it is and I keep referring to days not as I run into them but more on my sleeping schedule. Oh well.  Jeff also has been working like crazy, usually opposite shifts. I feel like I haven't seen him in a while.

I am especially excited cause tomorrow I have a date with Jeff. Not that we haven't like gone and got dinner but it has been a lot of not so date type things like grabbing dinner if we are out, mostly to go things. Tomorrow we are actually going to go out to dinner and a movie. I really wanted to go see Sherlock Holmes and so Jeff is taking me tomorrow night since we both don't have to work. This is like the first real date I have ever been on. YAY!

I am Super excited cause Christmas is just around the corner. As I am writing I am listening to chrismas carols.  I still have soooo much shopping to do. Not that I don't shop for people during the year, but this year I haven't had the money to do so. Jeff and I have decided that we are going to go half and half on gifts cause the girls have decided that this year they would like gift cards so they can go buy pants and stuff they need. This way they get more money to work with.  This is not to say that I think Christmas is about the gifts cause it totally isn't I LOVE Christmas cause it is a time to be around my family and friends. Especially after the past three weeks I could really use the reconnect. I miss them.

Things to come:

More blogging! Different blogging! More Ranting... I'm sure. So regular Blogs every Wednesday. I would like to do a new blogtype thing on other things like crafting maybe on a different day. I am also thinking I mights start writing and posting it here on another connected page. Currently I have realized that I can do several different pages on the same blog making this more of a website than a blog.Yay for homepagieness!

Wishing you all the brightest of holiday wishes. I am off to my last day of work this week.

Stop Right There Christmas!

Now that it's November I have noticed that department stores have almost totally skipped over Thanksgiving. There are fewer fall decorations and many more Christmas ones out. It seems that as winter approaches Christmas doth descend in November and sometimes in October if you are Fred Myers or J C Penny's. I say 'Nay' I want my Thanksgiving back! I want to spend hours with my family and just be thankful that we are all still here, happy and with each other. I want to buy silly little turkey things and things for making pie and take my boyfriend home to meet my parents... A scary thought all on it's own. I want to watch football with my Mom and Dad and fight with my brother over the wish bone. I don't want Christmas to rear it's head until after I pass out in a turkey coma!

This is not to say that I don't like Christmas. I love it. The decorations, the holiday smells that roam the hallways and aisles of stores. I love the trinkets and most of all I love being with my family and friends. I love it when my adopted Mom makes divinity and snow is in the air. Like I have said before I love all the seasons I just want them in their season.

Tailgaters Beware!!!

I will be the first one to say that I hate tailgaters. I personally am not one but some people!  I mean I understand that it is SUPER important that YOU get wherever it is that you are going but really! I'm driving a little over the speed limit already, and you are still riding my ass.  Today I was with my sister and we were coming home and there was a car ahead of us and one behind us. Now the person ahead of us was driving a little over the speed limit and we were a little ways behind her. The woman behind us, though rode our ass all the way to where we turned off. As my sister was driving we were talking about this and she too said that she tries not to ride the bumper of the person in front of her. So we have decided that what the driving community needs is people who pay attention to the damn speed signs! They are there for a reason. The state/city pays a shit load of money for all those large white signs with the big BLACK numbers. At least buy me dinner or pull my hair if you are going to ride my ass.
